2022 Chevy Trailblazer Review
If you’re looking for an SUV that fits the whole family and gives you plenty of cargo space, the 2022 Chevy Trailblazer might be right for you. This reliable SUV offers seating for five with plenty of legroom.
To help drivers from Avon, Cleveland, or Akron, OH, learn more about the 2022 Chevy Trailblazer, Mark Wahlberg Chevy Avon has put together this review. Give it a read to learn about the Trailblazer’s engines, dimensions, and safety features.
Engine and Performance
The Chevy Trailblazer offers two engine options paired with either a 9-speed automatic transmission or a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The standard engine is an ECOTEC 1.2L Turbo engine with 137 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque that is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission.
The second engine option is the available 1.3L ECOTEC Turbo engine that offers a bit more power with 155 horsepower and 174 lb-ft of torque and is mated to a CVT.
For better fuel economy, the Trailblazer has standard front-wheel drive. However, if you’re looking to off-road or want better traction overall, the available all-wheel drive (AWD) system might be the better option for you.
To customize your drives even more, the Trailblazer has three drive modes available. The first is Normal, the second is either Snow or All-wheel drive mode, and the third is available Sport mode.
Dimensions and Cargo Space
The Trailblazer has plenty of room for everyone and all your belongings. If you need to haul some furniture, the total cargo volume of 54.4 cubic feet will offer you plenty of space for that chair or coffee table you’ve had your eye on.
Have a full car for a road trip? There is enough room to spread out and get comfortable, with 40.9 inches of legroom in the front and 39.4 inches of legroom in the rear. There is also plenty of hip room in the front with 52.3 inches and in the back with 45.7 inches for wiggly passengers.
Broad-shouldered friends or family will feel comfortable in the front or back with 55.4 inches of shoulder room in the first row and 53.8 inches in the second row. The headroom of the Trailblazer comes to 40 inches in the front and 38.4 inches in the second row.
Safety Features
While you’re on the road, your Trailblazer has your back with a suite of driver-assistive and safety features called Chevy Safety Assist. There are six standard features as part of this suite. They include:
- Forward Collision Alert and Automatic Emergency Braking: If your Trailblazer detects a potential front-end collision, it will warn you and can brake automatically if you don’t react in time.
- Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning: This system warns you if you’re drifting out of your lane unintentionally.
- IntelliBeam® High Beam Assist: This feature automatically turns on the Trailblazer’s high beams when it’s dark enough and off when there is oncoming traffic.
