If you don’t want to have to choose between power and precision, or between utility and daring escapades, then you should consider Chevrolet’s compact pickup. Combining maneuverability and power, the 2022 Chevy Colorado is an assertive and self-assured drive.

The 2022 Colorado is Chevy’s second-generation midsize pickup truck. It can be configured around three possible combinations of a long or short box, and an extended or crew cab. All choices come with either rear-wheel or all-wheel drive.

Versatile

There are four available trim levels for the Colorado:

WT

The base trim is modeled for driving convenience, with a four-way power driver’s seat, a 7-inch color touchscreen, and a six-speaker audio system.

LT

The LT steps up the comfort. It has a dual rear seat with under seat storage, a six-way power driver’s seat, Wi-Fi hotspot, and steering wheel-mounted controls.

Z71

With the Z71, the Colorado veers off the beaten track, with all-terrain tires and a locking differential to help it handle more rugged trails. But you’ll still enjoy a luxurious drive with automatic climate control, Bose premium sound system, and heated seats.

ZR2

Of all the Colorado models, the ZR2 is the best equipped for serious off-roading. As well as driver-selectable full-locking front and rear differentials, it features off-road rocker protection and an off-road package with DSSV Multimatic suspension dampers.

Powerful

There are three available powertrains for the Colorado. The base engine is the 200hp 2.5l four-cylinder, with 6-speed automatic transmission. For speed and acceleration, the 3.6l V6 engine has an 8-speed transmission and 308hp. And the 2.8l diesel four-cylinder gives the best fuel economy and torque. All three are available on all the trims except the WT, which offers gas engines only.

Hardworking

Delivering between 191 and a staggering 369 lb-ft of torque, one of the Colorado’s major selling points is its ability to tow between 3,500 and 7,500 pounds. As a result, a trailering equipment package is available, and trailer-sway control comes as standard on all trims. The payload capacity of the Colorado is also impressive, weighing in at a minimum of 1,574 pounds, and able to carry up to 2,181.

What’s New in 2022

For the first time in six years, the Trail Boss package has made a reappearance on the 2022 LT and Z71 Colorado models. This includes an extra inch of suspension lift and skid plates, as well as black wheels and exterior trim.
