Clean Your Car

Cleaning your car and removing personal items before you trade in your vehicle is important. You won’t forget anything you intended to keep.

You also make your vehicle look nicer and in better condition. A quick clean inside and out will show you take care of your vehicle.

Complete Minor Repairs

Completing minor repairs can help improve your vehicle’s trade-in value. Fixing dents, addressing recalls, and replacing burned-out bulbs are all small repairs you can do. Recalls are often free to complete and show you’ve maintained your vehicle.

If you have any repair receipts from accidents or proof you’ve kept up with your routine maintenance, bring them. This shows you’ve taken care of your vehicle. A vehicle in better condition is worth more.

Trade in Your Vehicle

When you go to the dealership, you need a couple of things. First, your driver’s license, which is required to drive and is a form of ID. You’ll also want to bring any loan information if you’re still paying your vehicle off. Don’t forget any extra keys you have lying around.

If you’ve finished paying off your car, then you’ll want to bring the title so you can sign it over to the dealership once the trade is complete.

After you arrive at the dealership, a team member will appraise your vehicle, check it over, and potentially take it for a test drive. Then, you’ll receive a trade-in offer. You’ll complete that paperwork alongside your new vehicle’s financing.
